Virginia Senate Race - #6 - Mark Warner's Debate from Hell - Washington Post (2) Mark Ducks Out, Terry Gets Angry - Bearing Drift (3) City of Houston Demands Pastors Turn Over Sermons - Fox

Mark Warner's Debate from Hell - Washington Post - Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) on Monday had the exact debate he did not want to have, one focused on his own role in talking about jobs for the children of a key Democratic state senator. The Post reports: In the pair’s third and final campaign debate in Richmond on Monday, the Republican underdog used his very first question as an opportunity to bring up Warner’s recently revealed job talks with the son of former state senator Phillip P. Puckett. Pivoting from an unrelated question on voting rights, Gillespie said Virginia’s voters deserve answers from Warner if he discussed judicial appointments in exchange for Puckett remaining in his seat. (2) Mark Ducks Out, Terry Gets Angry - Bearing Drift - Mark Warner and Ed Gillespie appeared at a forum in Danville Tuesday night and while the reporting shows each man stuck to his talking points, there was also this: After the forum, ABC 13 News spoke with Gillespie, asking him about his poll numbers and if the increase is a too little, too late. The republican candidate says three weeks is a long time. “I see momentum going our way and really in fact over the past five months, we have come from behind 29 points down to single digits. I think that shows the momentum we have,” said Gillespie. ABC 13 News reached out to Warner throughout the night to comment on a number of topics, including his declining poll numbers. He did not comment. Giving the press the brush-off is a sure way to draw more attention to your problems, Senator.  Read more........

(3) City of Houston Demands Pastors Turn Over Sermons - Fox -  The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court. “The city’s subpoena of sermons and other pastoral communications is both needless and unprecedented,” Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Christina Holcomb said in a statement. “The city council and its attorneys are engaging in an inquisition designed to stifle any critique of its actions.” ADF, a nationally-known law firm specializing in religious liberty cases, is representing five Houston pastors. They filed a motion in Harris County court to stop the subpoenas arguing they are “overbroad, unduly burdensome, harassing, and vexatious.” Read more.........

Polio Like Illness claims 5th Life in U.S. - May be linked to recent influx of illegal children into U.S. public schools - Sharyl Attkisson - At least five children infected with the respiratory illness known enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) have died in the U.S. in the past month. However, a study published in Virology Journal, found EV-D68 among some of the 3,375 young, ill people tested in eight Latin American countries, including the Central American nations of El Salvador and Nicaragua, in 2013. (See Fig. 3) Though the U.S. government is keeping secret the locations of the illegal immigrant children, there are significant numbers of them in both cities in which the current outbreak was first identified, Kansas City, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois, according to local advocates and press reports. (2) 'Voting's the Best Revenge' - American Thinker - The only advice Barack Obama offered that is worth following is a bit of one he gave to supporters in 2012. Days before Barack Obama was reelected, he fired up a crowd of supporters at a campaign rally -- inside a public high school, no less -- with the call for them to vote out of revenge. (3) How Liberals Dominate the Public Debate - American Thinker - Lakoff's theory -- according to his Little Blue Book -- is that people use metaphors or narratives make decisions about politics. The way liberals frame issues in narratives undermines conservative’s positions in a subtle way that lets Democrats easily defend their disastrous policies. Examples on Obamacare, Tea Baggers, Pro-Choice, Trickle down, Capitalism, War on Women, 1%, Racist, Democracy. Read more on each of these examples......

(4) Family Foundation Statement Regarding Supreme Court Marriage Ruling - Family Foundation - STATEMENT BY VICTORIA COBB, PRESIDENT OF THE FAMILY FOUNDATION OF VIRGINIA, REGARDING SUPREME COURT’S DENIAL OF MARRIAGE APPEALS “We are disappointed that the Supreme Court has sidestepped this important issue, at least for now, and left Virginians without a definitive answer. Unfortunately, over one million Virginians who legally voted to adopt the marriage amendment have been disenfranchised, leaving them to wonder if their vote on any issue is safe from government reprisal. Those voters were also denied a defense by Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring, who put his political aspirations ahead of both the Constitution of Virginia and the oath of office. CAIR - #2 - Montana Mayor Fires Back at CAIR - American Thinker

Nobody does bullying in the name of “sensitivity” more frequently than America’s rapidly-growing Muslim population. The scholar Fouad Ajami has written knowledgably about why offense is taken so often. Whatever the root, Muslims living in Western countries are quite expert about playing the “sensitivity” card to bully the rest of society into compliance with dictates of sharia whenever they can. In Minnesota, Muslim groups are pushing for the creation of free food dispensaries (“food shelves”) that do not carry pork, so as to be in compliance with sharia dietary laws. Read more......
